What would we do without our Big Brother?

Seriously...who would entertain us all day long? He brings us toys, lays by us, sings us songs, hands us our monsters (making sure that the right monster goes to the right baby girl as we obviously each have our own special monster), shows us how each toy works, and showers us with lots of kisses (even when we are sleeping and mom says not to).

A big smile for the camera from Ashlyn because her big brother is just SO. MUCH. FUN!!

Scooter Lessons

Although Connor has been "riding" his scooter all over the inside of our house ever since he got it last Christmas...it is finally time to take the outdoor ride OUTDOORS. Yes, that's right folks, Connor got his first real live scooter lesson...by none other than his good ole' Dad.

These two bad boys kicked it around our cul-de-sac for a few. Next up...riding to the neighborhood park. (We might need a few more "up hill/down hill" lessons before that outing, however.)

P.S. Dear Scooter Instructor: The Safety Police may frown upon the untied shoe laces and no helmet.

Summer Fun!

Summer just isn't summer around here with out some water fun on a hot sunny day. However, getting the whole fam out of the house is no small feat (trust me on this one...). It took us all morning to pack/get ready. (Seriously, we left the house at 1pm.) I think I packed approximately as much as we use to pack for a weekend camping trip minus the tent. But it was worth it...and so refreshing!

As it turns out all three of our children LOVE. THE. WATER. (or watching it at least). Not even a peep from the girls as they were apparently mesmerized by the water show, then dozed off in their front row seats.

Baby Beaver Believers

You can never be too young to sport your Beaver gear...and get your game face on!

Ashlyn (left, in pink) and Kaia (in white) - 2 months old.

The 4th of July

We don't really get out as much as we used to...

but who says you have to leave the house to have a little fun?

This 4th of July we had a few friends over for a BBQ...

of course we served the Cunningham signature dish - BBQ pulled pork.

Bryan was eating it by the spoonfuls. This is typical. Then we fed everyone some strawberry shortcake...
Connor was eating it by the handfuls. This is also typical.

Connor waved his first sparklers while Daddy lit some "bigger"

(and by bigger, I mean "Oregon legal") fireworks.

Connor Turns 3!

We can't believe that Connor is already three...and looking at our new babes,

we REALLY can't believe he was ever that small.

By Connor's request we had a Lightning McQueen cake made for the occasion.

(Connor is only SLIGHTLY obsessed.)
Aunt Stacie & Sophia holding Ashlyn:

Uncle Troy holding...?

Sorry girls, it's too hard to tell you apart from the back of your head & in the baby burrito.

...And we had us some nappers (no names will be mentioned).

The kids opened gifts.

The big kid was just as excited as the little two to see what was in those packages!

And a highlight - the 200 ft. rocket launcher

Heads up!!

Cheers to our Birthday Boy! xoxo

The Fort

As you know, we have newborn twins. However, life does not halt for such things. Connor's Dad apparently has SO MUCH FREE TIME that he has been busy building Connor a little somethin' somethin' for this third birthday: Connor helped a little too:

Stay tuned for pics of Connor's 3-year old birthday party!

The Jungle Gym

I wonder who is enjoying this Jungle Gym play time more...? On second thought...I know exactly who:

The "Whys" Have Begun

It's official, we will now be answering "Why" questions multiple times a day for many, many days. Here's are a few recent conversations with Connor:

C: Why to the girls have to go to sleep?
Me: Because they are tired and need a nap.
C: Why do they need a nap?
Me: When people get sleepy, they need to take a little nap. It helps them grow big and strong.
C: Why do people grow big and strong?
Me: I guess that's just how the universe works.
C: How does the universe work?
Me: (Silence...I am already out of answers.)

C: Where are we going?
Me: We are going to the store.
C: Why?
Me: Because we have to get a few groceries we need.
C: Why do we need groceries?
Me: So we can have food to eat.
C: Why do we eat food?
Me: We eat food when we are hungry.
C: Why are we hungry?
Me: We get hungry when we need food to help us grow big and strong.
C: Why do we grow big and strong?
Me: (*Sigh*...I know where this is headed) That is just the way the Universe works.
C: How does the Universe work?
Me: (Silence...again we are at the end of the road.)

Lastly, one with Connor's Dad:
C: What does "sticky" mean?
Casey: It is like when you get something on your arm and you touch it and your fingers make the sound "CHH, CHH" (demonstrating & referencing a recent sap-on-Connor's-arm-incident)
C: What does "CHH, CHH" mean?
