Who will boss who around?

Ever since Connor & his cousin Lauren were born, there is a running bet in our family about which cousin will boss the other around. So far the jury is out. Connor had a great time "playing" with Lauren this weekend. I use the term "playing" loosely, because they mostly just sat in close proximity to each other, eyed each other, and grabbed at each other's hands, socks, and toys. Connor has a 3 month advantage which so far translates into the ability to army crawl...so he can mostly control the scene. But watch out when Lauren learns your tricks, Connor! 3 months will be nothin' to brag about.

The Wave

Connor learned to wave last week! At first he struggled a bit with the timing, waving a few seconds after he left around the corner in his car. But he's getting a bit better at it and sometimes will start waving until his audience waves back. He mostly waves at people, but has been known to wave at his BFF (see previous post titled "Man's best friend, Baby's best friend?") Sometimes he shows his exuberant personality and waves with TWO hands...

But has also mastered the one handed cool, calm, and casual style...apparently taking after his cool, calm, & collected Dad.

What will Connor's Dad do next?

Imagine my surprise when I came home from work last Friday (the day before Valentine's Day) to find a finger painted card from Connor...
What? An 8 month old can finger paint? Isn't that stuff toxic? And well, everything he touches goes straight into his mouth! How did his Dad keep it out of his mouth....?

Apparently he did not. Casey assures me that this particular type of finger paint is indeed nontoxic. So, I guess in that case...I LOVE the gift! Thanks boys:)

Man's best friend, baby's best friend??

For all of you who know our beloved (and well let's be honest...hyper!) 3-year old Boston Terrier, Daisy, this post will most definitely surprise you. Daisy and Connor are BFF's (aka Best Friends). Daisy is most definitely Connor's favorite entertainment, and shockingly Daisy is starting to become fond of Connor. She's been caught sleeping in his room, bringing him toys to play with her, and definitely trying to get some kisses in (which usually consist of quick licks right into Connor's open, drooling mouth when his parents aren't looking). Connor has been chasing her around the house since he could army crawl and laughing at her ever since he could laugh. In fact, we have no idea exactly what is so funny about Daisy, but Connor thinks she is H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S. We have successfully trained Daisy to keep away from Connor's toys, but have yet to figure out how to keep HIM away from Daisy's toys. So, we usually resort to the ole' standby - plugging up his open mouth with a pacifier when ever he gets within reach of one of hers. For those of you who have ever played tug-o-war with Daisy, you know that she is quite the competitor. However, (again shocking news!) she is really quite gentle when Connor tugs at the other end. Sometimes we don't know how we would keep this child (who doesn't sleep much...) entertained all day without her!! For those new parents or soon-to-be parents out there, forget the expensive toys, gadgets, and what-nots...get yourself a dog!

The Jumperoo!!!

We finally got our video camera, a Christmas present with an epic lost in the mail story. So for those of you who have not gotten the pleasure of watching Connor in his "jumperoo".

Out with old in with the new

Many of you may know about Connor's "boat" which was a laundry basket with a rope attached to it that we towed him around in to wind him down before bed time. Well....Connor, who is not lacking in the size department, has outgrown the boat and preferred to sit up now instead of lie back and "chillax". So Connor's Dad and him went on their first adventure to Toys R Us, which Connor loved, to get a new something or other to wind down. So Connor got a new car!!!! He absolutely loves his new car and chasing Daisy in it.
P.S. - He loves those PJ's

The toothbrush

Won't Michelle & Bryan be so proud of me?? Yes, that's right I'm brushing my own teeth! My parents think they are pretty sneaky, giving me this funny thing under the disguise of a "toy" but I know better. I use it now to get attention, but soon enough I'll refuse to use it...only to get more attention:)

Peace Out Internet, Connor

At the ZOO

Connor made his first trip to the Oregon Zoo today using his season pass his Uncle Troy and Aunt Erica got him for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. There were a lot of sleepy animals today though. The black bear, polar bear, and bengal tiger were all resting when we visited them. Connor was particularly interested in the elephant and was trying to make conversation with them, he sounded a little like them as well. There is a lot going on at the zoo and he is looking forward to his next visit if anybody wants to join him.
