Like Father, Like Son: Chapter 2

Need I say more?

(This last one is Connor absolutely cracking up at the "big kids" playing behind us.)

Like Father, Like Son: Chapter 1

There will likely be many, many, MANY chapters in this series. Besides the fact that Connor is Casey's physical "mini-me" he also tries to do everything that his dad does. Case in point: CHORES. What kid likes to mow a lawn? Apparently this one. I just hope he still likes this chore when he is oh...about 15!

"Whew! It's getting pretty hot working under this hat, people."

A Birthday Gift

Ahhh...recently home from a weekend away. Away from home and away from Connor. Connor stayed with his Grandparents while we went to a wedding and celebrated my birthday in Phoenix. It could not have been a more relaxing birthday. A little sun, a nice pool, some good friends, a fun wedding, and even a pedicure. However, the best birthday gift of all time came over the phone from 1500 miles away. Because it was my birthday and all, Grandma taught Connor to sing, "Happy to Mama, Happy to Mama" over the phone. Isn't that just the sweetest? XOXO

The Pack Leader

Connor has been a bit bossy to Daisy lately: "Dayde IT" (sit) "Dayde Tay" (stay) "No, no no Dayde" etc. I guess he has been watching too much of the Dog Whisperer. Here is our new pack leader in action:
"Here we go best friend. Let's walk over here...Oh, you want to go over here...? Now, don't get too carried away.
I only have 28 pounds to hold you back.
Here, best friend. Let's play with this ball instead. Oh. You aren't that interested?
Well, at least smile for the camera, Daisy.
Dood Gera Dayde! (Good Girl Daisy)"

Ways to say "Yes"

There are many ways to say "Yes." For example one could nod their head in the affirmative. Or just speak a quick, "yea", "yes", or even "yep." However if you are Connor the preferred method is to simply raise the eyebrows in rapid succession. Check it out for yourself:

Connor's Obsession: Baby's Blog

At Least 3 times per day, Connor insists on looking at "baby" on the computer. You see, we like to browse cousin Sophia's blog over, and over, AND OVER. At first, I thought that Connor might be interested in looking at just any ole' babies. But as soon as I opened another blog, he quickly replied, "No, no, no. Baby, baby, baby!" (which apparently means ONLY baby Sophia). So, to make a long story short, we had Sophia over to play last week so Connor could get him some real "Baby" time.

Connor even let her play in his "club house." She seemed pretty interested when he showed her how the "windows" worked. He also tried to hand her some toys, but instead of handing them to her HAND, he would hand them directly to her HEAD. Ok, so not the most successful strategy, but Hey! She's a baby. He was probably just trying to put them directly in her mouth...you know to skip a step. (Side Note: I wonder what Connor will call her when she is no longer a baby...?)

Dear Baby Sophia's Blog Editor, Please post some new pictures soon! We are patiently waiting...and watching...multiple times EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Ahhh, the beach.

We took a little road trip to the beach for Great Grandma Lucille's 90th birthday. I got lots of my favorite things on that day...most of one whole piece of carrot cake on Grandpa Frank's lap, some dump-trucking with Uncle Will, and football on the beach with my dad!

A Warning

Dear friends, family & house-guests,

Please try not to pass gas in front of Connor unless of course, you don't mind if he POINTS. YOU. OUT. Last night Casey umm...let one rip. Connor looked a little stunned and said, "Uh-oh! Daddy poo poo!"

Consider yourself warned.
