Chatting with some Preschoolers

I remember I used to give my mom unsolicited beauty and fashion advice as a teenager. I mean, why wouldn't I? Clearly, I knew everything back then. (You're welcome, Mom.) Today as we are in the car headed for pre-school drop off & work, Ashlyn says "Mom, your hair looks too wild for work." Let the games begin.

This week is teacher appreciation at preschool, so each of the girls had to tell me what they appreciate about their teachers & I help write it on some artwork as a gift. Here's how this situation goes down:

Me: Girls what do you appreciate about your teachers?
Ashlyn: Well, my teachers always give out snacks to kids who forget to bring one.
Me: Yes, that is so nice.
Kaia: And they give anyone water!
Me: Yes, also very sweet of them. {Side Note: The things that preschoolers appreciate....??!!} Anything else?
Kaia: I like it when they give me a job!
Me: Okay, great! Ashlyn, anything else you appreciate?
Ashlyn: Well.......(thinking for a loooooong time) I really appreciate when they read books. My teacher is REALLY good at reading. When I grow up to be a teacher, I want to read JUST. LIKE. HER.
Me: Okay, awesome! So, inspiring America's youth, one day at a time! Excellent! They will love this!
Girls: Huh? What? That's NOT WHAT WE SAID.

Mountain Biking

Now that the girls are getting faster on their bikes, we occasionally go "mountain biking." They are so fast that I can *mostly jog.* And as far as I am concerned, mostly jogging still counts. Connor, on the other hand, rides about as fast as I can sprint. And as far as I am concerned, "sprint-jogging" is seriously overrated.
