Today's Conversation

Me: Connor you only rested for 17 minutes today (and got up 5x to ask me what time is was, even though you can read a clock). I'm going to let you get up now because you are obviously not that tired, but in the future I want you to rest for 30 minutes & stay in your room until I come get you. Okay?
Connor: Okay. Will you tell me when the future is here and I will do that then?
Me: Well played, my son.

The Zoo

We love the Zoo. And, seriously...what's not to love? The animals are loved by all the children...
Connor by his favorite animal. (Not sure why he looks grumpy...maybe the glare of the sun?)
All kinds of fun things to climb on and ride...
A great green lawn to stretch our legs...

And play a little game of "tag"...
Oh, yea there's the steep and long hill at the end. Shockingly, by this point Connor is "really, really, really, really, really tired of walking" and insists on hitching a ride up. Perfect. I totally wanted to get in my workout before lunch in my regular street clothes. Later as I am trying to log this "workout" in my handy iphone calorie/exercise log app, I find no such exercise that remotely resembles "pushing 3 children up a hill in a stroller." What? They don't make an app for that? It is not a common exercise routine??? I can NOT imagine why not.

It was a great day to be a Beav!

Opening game was last weekend, and you couldn't keep these Beaver fans away if you tried!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO   SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS  UUUUUUUUUUUUU  !!!!!!!!!
Before the game began we took little C to the Beavers fun zone. No fun zone would be complete without an inflatable Orange & Black obstacle course:
Well, the tiniest fans had to  watch the game from home (...because we are not crazy parents. We know our limits). However, they cheered the Beavs on to beat number #13 rated Wisconsin...our good luck charms! It was a great day to be a Beav, indeed!

Day-yea!

As you may remember, Connor's first word was "Day-de" our beloved sixth family member. Although not the "Sweets" first word, it was definitely one of the first five. They have given it their own pronunciation twist, "Day-yea" usually sort of screamed in a high pitch manner like they are calling her to come pronto. Now they also will bark to her, which she does not seem to appreciate, but tolerates (because she has no choice, really).

This past weekend, on our way home from a family picnic at a park, Ashlyn started crying. Now, we are no strangers to some car-ride crying, but Casey (in the passenger seat) turned around and asked Ashlyn, "What is wrong? What do you want?" Ashlyn's reply, "Day-yea! Day-yea!" Then both of the Sweets start barking in unison. ALL. THE. WAY. HOME. I mean..when you know what you want, you know what you want, and the girl wanted her dog.
