A Weekend at the Coast

The weather called for rain during our weekend at the coast, so we decided to hit up the 'ole Seaside Aquarium. I'm pretty sure that I haven't been there since I was approximately eight. Apparently they have not remodeled, and it actually seemed smaller somehow 25 years later...one room to be exact. But the kids got to feed the seals, saw the new baby seal (5 days old), touch a few under sea creatures, and point at a lot of silly looking fish!
Since the rain never came, we also let the children run wild in the sand...it really doesn't take much to entertain these three, apparently. We were tired before they were. Which just sums up a typical day in the life...

Ashlyn's Twin Babies

Ashlyn is reading to her twin babies. She set this all up on her own, right down to the super comfy chair she has them propped up on. This whole scene is reminding me of my life about 20 months ago, except add some real-life crying, diapers, and a three year old running around. This version seems like much more fun. As one of my friends pointed out, it is a good thing she is getting used to balancing twins now, because chances are...

Check out Our Garden

We are growing some veggies and strawberries in order to promote healthier eating here at Growing Up Cunningham. By healthier eating, we are hoping that the kids might actually start eating a vegetable or two here or there since they nurtured them to grow and all. Really even one small bite per meal would be considered an improvement! Check out our greens:

The Happiest Place on Earth!

In no particular order, here are all our "happiest" photos of all the Disney fun:

This is Connor's totally natural smile that he only uses when he is really really HAPPY!

Quote of the Trip: "It is a really good thing that roller coasters never fall off" Goofy's Flying School Roller Coaster - Connor (age almost 5)

Connor Loved, loved, LOVED the ferris wheel. Unfortunately it was the slowest line in the whole park, so we "only" rode it 3 times.

Even our Bags were Disnefied

Oh yea - this was his favorite ride. We rode it in the morning, in the afternoon, and late at night. Every day. Gotta Love Mater!

A Birthday Gift

For their birthday, the girls got their own bike, and Connor got a new bigger one. They all couldn't be happier to all ride around together. Ashlyn (pink) is our little speed racer. Kaia (blue) is taking after her big bro. Nice and easy. One step at a time. No rush really.

A Family Birthday

When you have three kids who have birthdays within 1 month of each other there is really only one acceptable solution...a HUGE family birthday party for ALL THREE KIDS. In case you have never tried this my friends, let me assure you that this will result in lots and LOTS of running around, even more screaming. Well, that is just the first hour of the morning. Then the next 8 hours of waiting will practically kill the kids (and kinda the parents too). Later at the party when the cousins actually come over it would suffice to say that all forms of chaos ensue. Well, that's how we like to do it the Cunningham way, anyway.

Did we actually capture a quiet moment?? (Ashlyn)

The kids loved the party hats...for about 3 minutes!

The tiniest guests didn't seem to mind the Chaos...
in fact at times I think they wished they could run too!

Calling all Mousekeeters! Its time for cupcakes.

Lastly, time to play with the new toys. Let's start cooking!

Donut Conversations

As you may already know, today was National Donut Day. This fact totally alluded me until Casey came home & asked if I had a donut today? Ummm no, it did not cross my mind. Then he explained in detail how many donuts he came across today because of the National Holiday, of course. As we were discussing this strange holiday, I asked:

"Who makes up these 'National' days anyway? I mean who decided that today should be National Donut Day?"

Connor: "Jesus did."

P.S. Dear Blog readers, I have not abandoned you. I have had FAR FAR too many events in real life lately to squeeze in a blog here and there. Coming soon...two birthday parties, a vacation, a graduation (from preschool), and lots of other random activity over here at Growing Up Cunningham. Please stay tuned...until school is out FOR SUMMER! I think I can...I think I can...
