Welcome

There are now three children who will be Growing Up Cunningham. Kaia Belle, 6 lbs 12 oz and Ashlyn Maria, 7 lbs were born May 12, 2011. First, they started off on my good side because labor was only 6 hours (with a great epideral) and they arrived 9 minutes apart. So far they have been good listeners. As requested, they usually sleep together (and quite a lot) and only cry when necessary...as asked. When Connor first met them they were both being examined/bathed by the nurse and were crying in unison. His first reaction was,"I don't want them" and seriously...who can blame him? But by the time we brought them home he said, "Can we keep them?" and gave each of them their own Sesame Street Monster to have.

Big brother is doing so well being very gentle with them (with only a few head bumps so far) and likes to kiss them on the head. When they cry he will come tell me, "Mama! The babies are hungry!" (Thanks for the reminder, Connor, since I hadn't noticed.) Except for the marathon feedings around the clock, things are surprisingly calm, peaceful, and snuggly around these parts. Let's hope it stays that way...
